No! The library is the drop-off and pick-up point. Mornings begin at the library, where we’ll kick off the day and walk through the plan for learning and fun. The rest of the day is spent out in the community at local parks, outdoor activities, businesses, and other locations for hands-on learning and fun.
At InvestiKids DC, your child's safety is our #1 priority. We are parents, too, and understand that safety and comfort are top priorities for us as parents. We adhere to all local health guidelines, maintain low camper-to-staff ratios, provide staff with knowledge, tools, and resources to keep campers safe during camp. All staff members undergo background checks and are trained in CPR/first aid and will seek external medical assistance if necessary.
Here are several actions we've taken to protect camper safety:
Campers should bring a packed lunch, a reusable water bottle, sunscreen, and any personal items they may need throughout the day. We recommend labeling all belongings with your child's name.
We recommend that campers wear comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing suitable for both indoor and outdoor activities. Closed-toe shoes are required for safety during physical activities.
Campers are required to bring their own lunches. We provide light snacks during the day, but if your child has specific dietary needs or preferences, please pack additional snacks accordingly.
No. InvestiKids is a “Tree Nut and Peanut-AWARE” camp.
We do not prohibit nuts or other allergens at camp and cannot guarantee that a camper will not be exposed to allergens.
We pay special attention to allergies included on your camper registration form, so please ensure that it is up to date. You can also reach out directly to discuss your camper's needs!
Our camp is intentionally designed for small groups of 12-15 campers to ensure each camper receives quality, personalized attention and can engage deeply with the activities and lessons.
Our camps are all about fun, hands-on learning and real-world exposure! The specific topics and activities may vary depending on the group’s interests, and opportunities available that week. We follow a consistent daily structure and tailor each day to provide meaningful experiences.
Here’s a sample itinerary of a typical day:
Campers should bring a small backpack with essentials like a reusable water bottle, sunscreen, a packed lunch (if not provided). If swimming, the camper should come to camp with their swimsuit already on.
Parents will receive a detailed itinerary via email before the start of each week, including locations, times, and any specific instructions for each outing.
